Greens record 17th straight home win!

The Boston Celtics won their 17th straight game at home at TD Garden, tying the franchise record for best start in franchise history set during the 1957-58 season. They scored 120-plus points for the ninth straight game with a convincing win over the Utah Jazz.

The Boston Celtics have won 17 straight games at home at TD Garden, tying the record for the best start to a single season at home set in 1957-58. They beat the Utah Jazz in a decisive victory, scoring at least 120 points for the ninth consecutive game.

The key to the victory was the Celtics' suffocating defence, which limited their opponents to 6-of-28 shooting from the three-point line and 13 turnovers in the first three quarters. This allowed the Celtics to score on transition drives and keep picking up the pace on offence.

The Jazz's hopes of winning the game were quickly dashed when Jayson Tatum broke strong and dribbled in three-pointer after three-pointer. The four-time All-Star contributed 30 points, nine rebounds, five assists, a cap and a steal in one of his most complete performances of the season.

Here are some highlights and other factors that contributed to the Celtics improving their NBA-best record to 27-7:

The Celtics weren't rusty from having two days off before the game. They were sharp from the opening tip, with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown blocking consecutive shots.
They stayed fairly physical throughout the quarter, limiting the Jazz to 15 points while scoring 30 of their own. It was the fewest points scored by the Celtics in a quarter this season.
O'Shea Brissett and Sam Houser contributed two "Tommy scores" for the team, each stealing and creating converted offences from the bench.
The lineup of Peyton Pritchard, Joe Holliday Jr, Houser, Jayson Tatum, and Luke Cornett were outstanding on the defensive end of the floor, including a perfect matchup between Pritchard and Cornett on Jordan Clarkson in the corner and a one-handed dunk by Tatum after a rotational interception of a pass.
Tatum led all players with 23 points at the end of the first half. He was 5-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-6 from three-point range, and 9-of-10 from the free throw line.
Boston extended its lead to 36 points with great defence. The Celtics took a 71-40 lead into halftime, the ninth-largest halftime lead in Celtics history, according to Celtics statistics.
The Celtics limited the Jazz to 20 percent shooting from 3-point range in the first quarter, 16.7 percent in the second and 0 percent in the first 10 minutes of the third. They limited the Jazz's offence and pushed their transition offense.
Tatum had 30 points, six rebounds, five assists, a cap and a steal in 25 minutes of action, shooting 5-of-8 from three-point range and 13-of-14 from the free throw line with only one turnover.
Luke Cornett was outstanding in the fourth quarter and throughout the game, playing one of his best performances at the centre position during his time with the Celtics at 7'2". He had seven rebounds, one cap, one steal, and a plus-minus of +14 in 11 minutes of action.
The Celtics will hit the road to face Tyrese Halliburton and the Indiana Pacers on the second night of a back-to-back, with the game starting at 7 p.m. ET.
All in all, it was a great win that showcased the Celtics' strong offensive and defensive play. Tatum's all-around performance was impressive, and other players contributed as well. The team's morale is high right now, and we expect them to continue their winning ways in the upcoming games.
